The Festival Kreol, at its core, is a manifestation of the Mauritian and kreol identity and a celebration of the culture of the island through music, dance, arts, craft, cuisine, customs and the general way of life.  Since 2006, all the editions of the FIK have been widely acclaimed and consequently, it has evolved as one of the most applauded annual event organised at national level in Mauritius. Furthermore, FIK is believed to be one of the best international events to showcase Mauritius worldwide as it portrays the authenticity of the kreol culture through local music, arts, language and cuisine.
